Fun Weekend Questions...

Can you answer these 2 questions for me?

#1: What is your biggest reason for getting into coaching?
(what do you most want to get out of it?)

#2: If there was one person in the coaching industry (or a
related industry- speaker, author, etc.) that you most admired,
who would that be and why?

Please take a moment to write your answers in the comments section.

THANKS!

PS: I'm working away on a new program that will help you get
lots of coaching clients- faster & easier. It's coming out soon. It's
not just coaching, & training. It goes 100 times further!!!

I can't wait to tell you about it. Keep an eye on your email.

  1. My biggest reason for getting into coaching was because I have a gift for helping people reach their full potential-especially when they can't see it.

Question #2 is a more difficult question, as their are several people I really admire for a variety of reasons. Pressed to pick one, I would say Tim Brownson. He's written a fabulous book called How to be Rich and Happy that isn't necessarily new information, but is presented in an entertaining, easily digestible way.

  2. I'm an HR Consultant and have been helping (coaching) people in the corporate world for years. Pulling out of corporate and moving into coaching was a natural transition for me, and I still feel that I can (and do) partner with people and have tremendous impact on their lives.
#2 Dr Dwayne Dyer - he's the father of coaching b4 it was known in today's terms.

  3. I love to coach people to see new vistas of possibility when they are entrenched in rut-thinking and see no way out, or just need a one-degree shift to open up more options.

I love to be at their sides and share my business expertise with them as they take action, get reinspired and gain confidence.

I love seeing how their eyes light up, their backs get straighter and breathe deeper and how their voices get stronger and sound thrilled.

I love it that I can get paid for doing something so fulfilling.

Bob Proctor comes to mind immediately - he's is kind and generous, walks his talk, knows his stuff inside out.

The other who comes to mind is Richard Branson - he's a genius who is putting into rael action his consciousness raising ideas, rather than just talking about them. I know he's not a speaker, per se, but he's a heck of a good role model.

  4. I got into Life Coaching as I myself had a coach and it is such a full filling and wonderful thing to be able to help people reach - Their Own - purpose and wonderful life to help people get through what they see as problems in their way. Everyone deserves a fun and happy life.

The second one - three people, Anthony Robbins, Jack Canfield and Dr Wayne Dyer - these three have been so inspirational for so many years and their work never gets "old".

  5. I'm a coach because I enjoy seeing people learn and grow. Coaching is a "helping profession". Working with a person to achieve the potential I can see they have, that they can't yet see; to find the answers to challenges within themselves.

John Milton Fogg, Jim Rohn, Bob Proctor, Leider and Shapiro, Sue Mitchell - have all had an influence on my life. People who walk the talk.

    1. Helping people.
    2. Yogi Bhajan... Marianne Williamson... Eckhart Tolle... Michael Tamura. They speak from the heart, they have a (divine) vision, and they have integrity. ...or that's my impression...

  7. 1) I got into coaching because health and nutrition had always been a passion of mine. When I saw the amazing transformation in my own health and life while working with a nutrition coach, I knew that I too could help people transform their health and lives.

    2) In the coaching industry I admire Carey Peters. She has built a successful business and the information she provides is extremely valuable and she delivers it with passion and integrity. In the speaking world, Wayne Dyer always strikes me because he speaks so well and he's come so far in his life to deliver that message.

  8. I chose coaching to inspire and motivate people to believe a more fulfilling career will enhance more than just their career.

Tony Robbins is my most favorite speaker and coach.

  9. I got into coaching because I am pasionate about being a catalyst for growth of others. It is one of the few things that I can use all of my natural gifts and really feels like fun rather than a chore like my 20+ years in IT.

My favourite speaker is the Motivator the great Les Brown "It aint over until I win"

  10. As a shamanic healer, I have been doing "coaching" for a while, just not calling it that. Since knowing Christian, I have formalized it a lot more, and now talk about it as coaching.

Influences are way too many, since my path has been a metaphysical/spiritual one for over 35 years. Important mentors have been: Carolyn Myss, Marci Shimoff, Bob Proctor, David Neagle, Andrew Harvey, Byron Katie, Debbie Ford, Gregg Braden, Jack Canfield.

  11. Question #1: The opportunity to help people use and build on their existing strengths in order to go as far as they want to in life.

Question #2: Coach - Christian Mickelsen (not kidding!); Speaker(s) - Anthony Robins & Wayne Dyer; Author(s) - Don Miguel Ruiz & Jack Canfield

  12. Two answers for question #1:
    * To help people get their books written and get important, worthwile information out to the reading public.
    * To help people who are in transition make the jump to their own destiny work or personal "big medicine".

#2 is easy for me: Arielle Ford, who "coaches" innumerable authors through her CD's and online work (and now workshops), Rick Frishman for similar work, through his books, online newsletters and conferences, Steve Harrison and yourself, Christian. All of you do as much coaching by example as by what you teach.

    Thanks!

I can resonate with so much that has been written in answer to question 1, so I will not repeat them (an observation coaching reasons are the same worldwide).

Que: 2 A name that must go on the list is Thomas Leonard whom I had the pleasure of meeting and being trained by in seminars. Sadly his life ended too quickly.

  14. My reason for getting into coaching is to continue providing inhancement services to individuals whom exhibit the feels of being unhappy and/or lost and help them find there true purpose in life and to feel the experience of true happiness and accomplishment.

The individual that I owe the most thanks to for helping me is the person that helped me identify myself and find my purpose and happiness is Rick Warren, the author of "A Purposae Driven Life".

  15. I didn't get into coaching--coaching got into me! I am absolutely compelled to coach, and I am drawn to all things coaching.

Some coaching luminaries I'd like to meet include the most-fabulous Jane Creswell, Katie Brazelton, Milana Leshinsky and of course you, Christian!

These were fun questions--thanks for asking!

  19. My biggest reason for getting into coaching is to help children succeed. I do this by coaching parents. Self-esteem, a positive sense of self and happiness evolves during the childhood years. Every parent wants a happy well adjusted child.
After working with children for over 20 years, I am familiar with the challenges and struggles of childhhood. I coach parents to address these stuggles so they will have the tools to raise happy, well adjusted , and self confident children.

  20. I got into coaching for a several reasons; here's a choice few:
I've been "coaching" people for 20 years; might as well consider myself as part of the profession. I recognized the difference between those who succeed and those who don't isn't about skills, knowledge, training, education, barriers, discrimination...The difference is their attitudes, daily habits and goals, which is the realm of my coaching. Finally, I like to help people successfully "climb the Mount Everest" they choose to climb; coaching is how I do that.

No doubt, the person I admire most and who has influenced me most is my mentor coach David Herdlinger. He's still a real coach, not a "books, tapes and seminars" coach, and one of the most successful ones in the world.

  21. I took a life coaching course not originally to coach others but to grow within myself. When I saw such a huge change in myself and good and wonderful I felt, I knew I had to help people to get out of their ruts and feel as wonderful as I did. I learned how to love myself and others and truly want to share this with the world.

  22. 1. To empower other women to get unstuck, get inspired, feel fabulous and build the lifestyle of their dreams.

    2. I've been following Carey Peters and Stacey Morgenstern for a few years now. What I love about these gals is they are real, funny, sassy and seem to practice what they preach. They are not afraid to admit their own rough starts, share their mistakes and if you follow them for awhile you can see their growth, they are obviously working on themselves consistently. I like coaches who keep working on themselves!

  23. #1 My biggest reason to get into coaching...
Since I was in my 20's I started to talk motivation to almost anyone... I this I am a "natural gifted coach," and I love seeing people "blooming." (My grand father gave me the bug).
#2: If there was one person in the coaching industry, it'd be author and speaker Jack Canfield for his friendly way of speaking, and for his passion. (I also like Rev. Michael B Beckwith, for his very caring way of speaking.)
