Fun Weekend Questions...
Can you answer these 2 questions for me?
#1: What is your biggest reason for getting into coaching?
(what do you most want to get out of it?)
#2: If there was one person in the coaching industry (or a
related industry- speaker, author, etc.) that you most admired,
who would that be and why?
Please take a moment to write your answers in the comments section.
THANKS!
PS: I'm working away on a new program that will help you get
lots of coaching clients- faster & easier. It's coming out soon. It's
not just coaching, & training. It goes 100 times further!!!
I can't wait to tell you about it. Keep an eye on your email.

What Will You Be Famous For?
Do you want more attention? Not just for you business, but from people in general? I think deep down most of us really want a little extra attention; maybe from the opposite sex, or from our friends, or whatever.
Attention is part of the reason why we buy nice clothes or buy a nice car. In fact, I remember when I bought my Lexus SC430 convertible. I started getting a lot of attention. People looking at me in my car with the top down. Lots of comments "nice car", etc.
It was actually kind of weird and uncomfortable. I worried that people would think I was egotistical, etc. I've had my car for 4 years now and I don't even notice anyone looking at me or my car anymore (unless someone says "nice car").
On the other hand...
Everytime I attend a seminar these days, people find me and tell me how they are getting more clients or how they love my trainings. Even if it's a seminar that I'm not speaking at. Even seminars that are outside of my niche!
That kind of attention is a whole different thing. It's a lot more rewarding. It creates a sense of gratitude and pride. In fact...
When I was a kid growing up in school, I was practically invisible (except when I was getting bullied or picked on). I remember when I heard that 2 people where talking about me when I wasn't around - I was shocked that people actually talked... about me. It was weird.
But now, this sort of thing seems to happen a lot and I'm in awe of how things that I do actually affect other people out there in the world. It's kind of a high.
I think you want this too.
What will you be famous for? You car? Or how much you help?

Very Basic... and yet sooo powerful...
I know *goal setting* can sometimes be very
basic – especially for coaches, but let me tell
you a story about something that happened
just last night that literally shocked me!
My fiancée, Chelsa, recently lost one of her
best HR consulting clients (they’re hiring someone
full time) and she just finished her Masters Degree
this week too, so her student loans will be coming
due soon.
She’s been down on herself and very frustrated
because of her financial situation– but the only
solution she’s been toying around with has been
- get a job. Until...
Last night I shared an idea with her from the book
“4 hour work week” about taking mini-retirements.
And I said that I want to start taking them. And she
said “Let’s do it!” So we planned out where we want
to travel and vacation during our mini-retirements.
Our first 5 are...
1. Hawaii for 1 month (going this November)
2. Costa Rica for 1 month (going March of next year)
3. Australia for 6 weeks (including New Zealand)
4. The Caribbean for 1 month (visiting many of
the islands)
5. Polynesian area for 1 month (Fiji, Bali, etc.)
What happened next shocked me! She started
thinking about all of the ways she could start earning
extra money so that she can save up to pay for her
expenses while we’re taking our trips.
She came up with so many ideas and all of a sudden
she was even willing to *clean people’s houses* for the
extra money! Since she can earn far more doing other
stuff, I told her house cleaning was out of the question,
but, it’s a great example of how far people are willing
to go when they’re excited about something.
Me too...
Lately I’ve been feeling a little bored. Business is
going great. I have a great income and a wonderful
team that handles a lot of my work. My relationships
are great too.
Maybe I just didn’t feel challenged or something, but
after we started planning out our extended and frequent
vacations, something shifted in me too.
I got a new level of excitement about business
and got clear about something I’ve been wanting
to make a decision about for a few days (I’ll tell you
about that in a minute).
We both came home from our walk at 11 PM
and immediately started working on stuff to
get ourselves and our lives ready to make this
goal/dream/plan a reality.
So I ask you....
What would get you so excited to
grow your business, that you’d do whatever
it would take to succeed (even clean people’s
houses :)?
What kind of goal could you set that would
get you into a frenzy just thinking about it and
would get your mind racing around to find ways
to start getting clients and earn more?
I know for many people it’s not about
the money. I think that’s true for most
coaches actually. But, if you could travel around
the world, or have some other experience
that would really excite you – what would
do it for you?

The 30 Day "No TV Challenge" - Who has what it takes?
Hi,
When I eliminated TV my income doubled that year and has nearly doubled every year since. I challenge you to give up TV for the next 30 days to try it out - if you dare!
I'm not against "TV shows" per say - it's the endless mind-trapping that TV creates to keep you hooked and watching - the commercials, the next show coming up later, next week's episodes, etc. All that "non-sense" takes up a big chunck of your mind space and focuses of your unconscious mind in ways that aren't in your best interest. Instead...
Try Netflix or Blockbuster online.
You can still watch TV shows on DVD. And once you start watching shows this way, you won't ever be able to go back (no commercials, no waiting until next week for the next episode, and you get to watch on your schedule).
Now, the part of you that doesn't want to give up TV is probably saying stuff like this: "I watch educational shows on the Discovery channel" or "I have TiVo (DVR) and I can watch stuff when I want already" or "I can't disconnect the TV because my family likes to watch certain shows together" or "I only watch sports (which you can't watch on DVD)" or "I hardly ever watch TV" or "I don't drink or smoke - TV is my only vice, let me keep it".
First of all this is just the part of your mind that doesn't want to let go. These are all just "excuses". I had many of them myself before I gave up TV. For LIVE television (like sports or American Idol) you can make an event out of it and watch it with friends (at their house or at a sports bar). Everything else is better on DVD. And these days most TV shows come out on DVD a few months after the season ends.
If you have the courage to take the 30 Day "No TV Challenge", tell the world what you're going to do by posting your name and start date in the comments below.
Here's a list of DVDs to get you started...

[one of the best single seasons of television ever! There are 2 more seasons, but they're just not as good]

A Song for the "Plight of the Coach"...
I've mentioned before that all great stories are a journey from slavery to freedom and that coaching is all about freeing people from the slavery of their minds and the slavery of their situations.
As coaches, we too have our "plight" and we too need to be set free. We can free ourselves, but just like everybody else, we can always use a hand. That's where I come in. I'm here to help coaches that are ready to be set free and ready to soar.
Here's a song I wrote specifically for coaches. I got the LA Music Awards Singer Songwriter of the year, San Diego music awards songwriter of the Year to set it to music and sing it for you. His name is Tiamo DeVettori.
The song is called "Freedom Starts Tonight"...

Here are the lyrics...
"Freedom Starts Tonight!"
Verse 1:
Some times in our lives we just feel held down
We may have big dreams, but they get shot down.
I want to make a difference, but my offers don't land
I can see that people need me, but they don't understand
I'm working so hard and just getting by
I love what I do, and I just want to fly!
Chorus:
Freedom from worry, freedom from fear,
Making a difference, showing that I care
Freedom from the past, freedom for today
Making a great living, not fading away
Freedom from struggle, freedom from me
Making big changes, that last eternally
Bridge:
I'm ready for freedom, I'm ready to soar,
I'm ready for easy and worry no more
My future is certain, my future is bright
I know it will happen, it all starts with me tonight
Verse 2:
I live in a place where everything's hard work
I just left my job because my boss is a jerk
I'm making my life about helping others to soar
But I'm tied to the ground by an invisible force
I've put myself out there, but I'm alone in the cold
The constant trial and error is getting so old
Chorus:
Freedom from worry, freedom from fear,
Making a difference, showing I care
Freedom from the past, freedom for today
Making a great living, not fading away
Freedom from struggle, freedom from me
Making big changes, that last for eternity
Bridge:
I'm ready for freedom, I'm ready to soar,
I'm ready for easy and worry no more
My future is certain, my future is bright
I know it will happen, it all starts tonight
Freedom Starts With Me Tonight!
